About Wade
Wade was elected to the Victorian Parliament to represent the seat of Williamstown District in September 2007 following the retirement of long serving Victorian Premier and Williamstown MP, Steve Bracks.
Living in Williamstown with his wife and their two young sons, Wade is the fourth generation of his family to reside in the inner western suburbs with his parents and grandparents all being born and raised locally in Yarraville.
Wade holds the view that good governments are about being both socially inclusive and economically progressive. Everyone deserves a chance.
Caring passionately about the community, Wade is currently working with a number of organisations to assist young people reach their potential through the YMCA’s Bridge Project. This important project aims to rehabilitate young people and assist them in gaining sustainable employment. He has also been a long term volunteer and supporter of Berry Street Victoria.
In his former role as a national union leader, Wade worked to advance the interests of working families in the transport industry. He also understands the value of quality education, having completed graduate studies in Human Resource Management. In addition, Wade is a Fellow of the prestigious Williamson Community Leadership Program.
Outside work, community and family activities, Wade enjoys running and has completed eight marathons. He is also a passionate supporter and member of both the Western Bulldogs and Williamstown Football Clubs.
Wade is proud to have been elected as the Victorian Parliament's representative in Williamstown and aims to continue the type of local representation provided by former Williamstown MPs, Steve Bracks and Joan Kirner.
