Labor To Build Women’s And Children’s Hospital For The West

An Andrews Labor Government will build the Western Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Sunshine, with $200 million in funding to improve care for families in the fastest growing area in Australia.

Victorian Opposition Leader, Daniel Andrews, joined Federal Opposition Leader, Bill Shorten, at Sunshine Hospital today to make the historic announcement, which will create 2,000 jobs in construction and 500 jobs in the hospital.

The new five storey centre – specialising in services for families in the West – will bring care closer to home, allow for an extra 2,000 births a year and free up beds and services at Sunshine and surrounding hospitals.

Labor Will Invest in a Footscray Learning Precinct

Labor will commit $15 million to make Footscray the potential home of a preschool-to-postgraduate education precinct, Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Andrews, announced today.

Labor’s proposal – a national first – will bring together early childhood education providers, Footscray City Primary School, Footscray City College, Victoria University and other stakeholders.

Labor's Investment in Bayside P-12 College Set to Continue

Bayside P-12 College will receive $300,000 from an Andrews Labor Government to upgrade the technology wing at their junior campus in Williamstown.

Labor MP for Williamstown, Wade Noonan, made the election pledge today and said the funding commitment would help build on Labor’s strong record of investment in Bayside P-12 College.

Labor to Deliver 24 Hour Williamstown Trains on Weekends

A Victorian Labor Government will deliver 24-hour public transport across Melbourne with trains, trams and buses running all weekend, every weekend.

Williamstown MP, Wade Noonan, said that the announcement by the Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Andrews, that Homesafe Trains will be running on the Williamstown line all night on Fridays and Saturdays would be welcomed by local residents.
